(KCPW News) The Internet has been abuzz lately over a recent hacking scandal involving the theft and distribution of intimate celebrity photos. According to reports, a group of hackers conspired to target specific celebrities—all female—and so far they’ve successfully leaked private, nude images of 17 individuals. The anonymous thieves claim to have sexually explicit content of 100 women.

Questions abound about the ethics, morality, and legality of this incident, as well as similar incidents involving average people. What can individuals do to protect themselves from something like this, if anything? As it turns out, a new Utah law might be part of the solution.

KCPW’s Ryan Cunningham has this report.
