He also co-founded the Utah Community Foundation.  Warnock discusses how Mercato Partners stands out among comparable “growth capital investors” as he prefers to call it.  He also talks about the risks of over-investing in under-performing companies, and when to let them go.  He shares lessons he learned from being a programmer, how he managed to earn a PhD in Entrepreneurship at the University of Utah, and why Utah is able to grow strong companies.  And he talks about the importance of being a dad, and doing “dad class” with his kids to get them to learn from other professionals.
