This week Natalie is joined by Rep. Brian King and Sen. Todd Weiler. They review the 2nd District debate this week between Congressman Chris Stewart and Democratic challenger Charlene Albarran, and the Vice Presidential candidate debate between Republican Mike Pence and Democrat Tim Kaine. They also discuss the “Mormon Leaks” of videos and documents released at the end of last weekend’s LDS Church conference that show Church leaders discussing topics like political influence, gay marriage, marijuana, and more between 2007 and 2012. They also talk about what the legislature could do in the strange case of Salt Lake County Recorder Gary Ott, who recently failed to answer basic questions posed by County Council members. An audit showed Ott has been absent from day-to-day office management, and some believe he is being manipulated by staff, yet no legal mechanism exists to remove an elected official who has health problems.
