The Hinckley Institute Radio Hour (Air date: December 27~30, 2017) – No one knows political polling more than Dan Jones. He’s the founder of the market research and public opinion firm Dan Jones and Associates. Last week Prof. Dan Jones and Jason Perry, Director of the Hinckley Institute of Politics, discussed the ins and outs of public opinion polling. They talked about the importance of how questions are asked, what is meant by margin of error, how polling has evolved in the age of the cell phone, what is meant by “push polling”, and some examples of when polls have gotten it both wrong, and right. The conversation was moderated by the Editor of the Salt Lake Tribune, Jennifer Napier Pearce. It was recorded on September 14, 2016.
