The Hinckley Institute Radio Hour (Original Air Date: July 20, 2022) — This week on the program, members of the Utah Ukrainian Association discuss the history of the Ukrainian people and how that history led up to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Since the launch of the invasion in late February, Ukraine and Russia have made little progress on ceasefire negotiations. The eastern Donbas region of Ukraine has been especially hard hit, becoming the top focus of Russia’s protracted invasion. Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are underway in Turkey to reach a compromise on exporting more than 20 million tons of grain from the Black Sea port city of Odesa. If this grain is exported, it would mean a major step forward in ensuring food supply lines around the world.
This week’s panel includes Yulia Holko and Yevgen Kovalov, co-directors of the Utah Ukrainian Association and Anya Baryshok, president of the Utah Ukrainian Association.
