(KCPW News) A group of local activists, organizers, teachers and students on Monday delivered a petition to the Natural History Museum of Utah as part of a nationwide effort to get museums to rid their investment portfolios of any fossil fuel holdings.

Activists from the groups Peaceful Uprising, the Utah Tar-Sands Resistance, and others, delivered the petition with nearly 55,000 signatures to NHMU Associate Director for Visitor Experience Becky Menlove, who accepted the petition on behalf of museum Director Sarah George, before handing it over to a University of Utah representative.

KCPW’s Roger McDonough reports.
