Candidate Conversations: Democrat Kael Weston says the complicated makeup of District 2 suits him

Today on In the Hive we kick off a series of conversations with candidates running in the 2020 election. Kael Weston is the Democratic Party nominee hoping to unseat U.S. 2nd District Republican Rep. Chris Stewart. Weston attended the University of Utah before undertaking graduate studies overseas and then working for more than a decade in the U.S. State Department – seven of those years during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He says his family’s deep, rural roots in CD2 would well serve him as a representative of the district, but “whether Utahns arrived last week or a 150 years ago doesn’t matter, what matters is solutions.”

This is the first in a series of candidate interviews we’ll be featuring on the show to help inform voters. Check back for more in this series.
