Community Calendar

Our Community Calendar is a volunteer-run resource offered to all qualified nonprofits. Community Calendar events are highlighted live, on-air throughout the day on KCPW. Featured events are chosen at random. You will also find all current Community Calendar events listed here at kcpw.org.

The Community Calendar also has a physical home. Following the criteria listed below, mail or bring professional materials (no handwritten signs please) promoting your event to the KCPW studios at 210 East 400 South, Suite 10, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. We’ll happily hang them in our window for all Library Square traffic to see.

To submit an event to the Community Calendar, the event must meet the following criteria:

  • The event must take place in Utah.
  • The organization promoting the event  must be a qualified 501(c)(3) charity or political subdivision.
  • The event cannot promote a religious organization or individual.

If your event meets these criteria, click “Post Your Event” below. Include your contact information in case we have any questions. Otherwise, your event may not get published.

We encourage you to make the most of your post by adding a featured image and links to your organization.  Utilize the provided field boxes (i.e. location, ticket information) to display information as accurately and quickly as possible.

Please do not submit duplicate postings for the same event. If you are posting a class or workshop that requires registration, list just the first instance in the date and time, and include the details for subsequent classes in the description.

NOTE:  approved events are typically posted to the Community Calendar within seven days of your submission.

Please submit requests at least 14 days before your event – listings read on-air are chosen at random, the week of the event.

Revelation Art Show and Seminar @ Cult HQ
Oct 1 – Oct 2 all-day

Church is done. We can prove it. Please join us as we depict and justify the end of material religion.
October 1 | Art Show
October 2 | Seminar
137 W 4640 S, Murray, UT | 5 — 7 PM
Free entry, giveaways and refreshments. All are welcome. RSVP at cult.love/show
This two-part event series, held on October 1-2, 2022 at the cult HQ in Murray, UT, welcomes all to come hear us synthesize decades of research on why we think church is done, and how we can prove it.
On night one, October 1, we will host an art show. The pieces on display are learning aids in depicting this perspective on the faith that we find to be under-known and incredibly liberating. And on night two, October 2, we will unpack the basics of that perspective in a seminar format. All thoughts questions, challenges are welcome under one constraint: they are conducted in an attempt toward agape love.
If you are a seeker, if you have been burned by religion, if you insist that church is ever present – we welcome you. No matter your past, current, or future beliefs, we welcome you. But most importantly, we welcome you within a spirit of peace, understanding, and cooperation to pursue the Truth alongside one another.

Utah Film Center: FIGHT CLUB @ Salt Lake City Public Library
Oct 5 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Utah Film Center is excited to announce our upcoming screening of Fight Club on Wednesday, October 5th at 7pm at the City Library downtown location. One of the most iconic films of the late 90s, Fight Club’s exploration of toxic masculinity and consumerism in America left some moviegoers inspired by its bravado and others outraged at its blatant displays of male violence. Please join us for the screening and stick around afterward for a post-film conversation about Fight Club’s legacy and toxic masculinity with a professor from University of Utah’s film department and KUER’s RadioWest host Doug Fabrizio.
Presented as part of our Through the Lens series, which for 2022 features a collaboration with the University of Utah’s Department of Film and Media Arts to present an extended exploration of what many Film Lovers regard as the “Classic Films” in cinematic history. The post-film discussion will ask the question “Why is this film a classic and who is it a classic for?”
