Our Community Calendar is a volunteer-run resource offered to all qualified nonprofits. Community Calendar events are highlighted live, on-air throughout the day on KCPW. Featured events are chosen at random. You will also find all current Community Calendar events listed here at kcpw.org.
The Community Calendar also has a physical home. Following the criteria listed below, mail or bring professional materials (no handwritten signs please) promoting your event to the KCPW studios at 210 East 400 South, Suite 10, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. Weâll happily hang them in our window for all Library Square traffic to see.

- The event cannot promote a religious organization or individual.
If your event meets these criteria, click “Post Your Event” below. Include your contact information in case we have any questions. Otherwise, your event may not get published.

From the artist:
âI have been playing music all my life, performing professionally in various groups in the salt lake area and beyond for a little over a decade (currently fronting blues-rock group Poet Bones). Graveljaw Keaton is my newest project, created as a home for my lofi-inspired, western-influenced guitar instrumental music. SALT LAKE CITY, UT â Salt Lake City Public Library will be exhibiting Circles of Influence: Artwork by Virginia Catherall, Sheryl Gillilan, Rebecca Klundt, Jaye Rieser, Kandace Steadman, and Camille Wheatley in the Fourth Floor Gallery through August 4, 2023.
Circles are found everywhere in the natural world, from the solar system to stream-tumbled rocks, to microscopic cells. Sound waves radiate outward. The sunâs rays penetrate inward. Circles are vibrant shapes because they absorb and reflect what is around them. âCircles of Influenceâ uses that imagery as the foundation of each artistsâ work. Sheryl Gillilan focuses on the interplay of circles and straight lines in her quilts. Jaye Rieser incorporates the natural motion of the potterâs wheel to craft her pieces. Kandace Steadman creates collage mandalas and mixed media pieces that focus on circles. Camille Wheatley uses her camera to document the world she sees, capturing the immediacy of circles in her scenes. Virginia Catherall is inspired by the natural world and translates that vision into circular, knitted art pieces. Rebecca Klundt uses reclaimed wood to create landscapes and other imagery. This exhibition looks at circles of influence as experienced by artists through six different media and textures, bringing together a rich exploration of the same theme.
