Millions have immersed themselves in the magical worlds of Fablehaven, a hidden refuge for mystical creatures, and Lyrian, setting of Beyonders: A World Without Heroes. On Thursday, New York Times best-selling author Brandon Mull joins Jennifer to talk about the challenges and rewards of writing for children and young adults.

Brandon Mull is presenting Beyonders: A World Without Heroes and Pingo as part of the Utah Humanities Book Festival today (Thursday, Oct. 6) at 11 a.m. at the City Library in downtown Salt Lake City.

Over the past four decades, David Burnett has documented some of the world’s most pivotal moments, from Vietnam to Hurricane Katrina to the 2008 presidential campaign. An exhibit of Burnett’s award-winning photographs is coming to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts.

    Brandon Mull’s “Pingo” was the winner of the 2009 Utah Book Award which is given every year by the Utah Center for the Book housed at the Utah Humanities Council. After his presentation on “Pingo” in the children’s library at Library Square dowtown, he’ll be talking about his Beyonders books in Ogden at the Weber County Library, Pleasant View Branch.
