Granite Schools Try Vegetarian Lunches

Utah’s largest school district has gone meatless every Monday during October as part of an initiative to introduce kids to more diverse diets. The decision in Granite School District was made in concert with First Lady Michelle Obama’s healthy eating campaign, Let’s Move! As KCPW’s Whittney Evans reports, the school district says the idea is to introduce new dishes and healthy alternatives to meat, rather than encourage kids to be vegetarian.
