CityViews 5/23/12: Family Memories of Butch Cassidy/ “Aliens: The Puppet Musical”



Segment 1:

Bill Betenson grew up selling T-shirts in his family’s tiny museum dedicated to the outlaw Butch Cassidy and hearing stories about his infamous great-uncle. He’s spent years gathering stories and records of Butch, and now he’s decided it’s time to publish what he’s learned. On Wednesday, Betenson joins us to talk about the memories and legends in his new book, “Butch Cassidy, My Uncle.”

Think back to that classic sci-fi film Aliens, the mid-80s movie where the heroine Ellen Ripley faces murderous extraterrestrial creatures. Now add show tunes and puppets and you’ve got the latest offering from Meat and Potato Theatre. On Wednesday, writer and artistic director Tobin Atkinson joins us to talk about “Aliens: The Puppet Musical.”
