(KCPW News) The Unified Police Department arrested a second suspect over the weekend for the July 25th thefts at the Utah Olympic Skating Oval in Kearns. The stolen property includes a number of cell phones, personal items from lockers as well as a pair of custom made skates valued at several thousand dollars. Lieutenant Justin Hoyal says victims are still coming forward reporting stolen property.
“We initially believed that there were four victims. We have since identified six and we don’t know if there are more who had property stolen,” he explains. “We ask if there are victims who had property stolen on the night of July 25th to contact the Unified Police Department.”
The two suspects who have been arrested are 30-year-old Leonard Regier, who was taken in on Saturday, and 41-year-old Jesse Michael Wood. Both are from the Salt Lake area and have been booked in jail on theft charges. Hoyal says none of the stolen property has been retrieved.
“Our detectives are working on these cases and their history and see if there are any other crimes they may have been involved in, but right now, they have just been able to close out this case at the Olympic Oval and making the arrests for the thefts. They are still trying to locate the property that was stolen,” Hoyal says.
Hoyal encourages any victims who had property stolen to notify the Unified Police Department at 801-743-7000.
