Prohibited radioactive waste has been buried in Utah, according to a legislative audit reviewed by state lawmakers today. As KCPW’s Charlotte Duren reports, the audit says the state’s Division of Radiation Control is essentially allowing EnergySolutions, which disposes of nuclear waste at its facility in Clive, to police itself, instead of proactively making sure it’s following regulations.
