Both Sides of the Aisle – Mackey Smith fills in for Natalie Gochnour in The Political Center and is joined on The Left by John Martinez, labor activist and 2nd vice chair of Salt Lake County’s Democratic Party, and on The Right by Troy Dougall, policy advisor to Rep. John Curtis. They discuss the future of Ukraine, the tensions between the U.S. and Russia, global energy policy and President Biden’s new budget. They also discuss Ukrainian refugees coming to Utah, the veto override that put the trans athlete ban in place and how the rising cost of living and inflation affect young workers.

    You guys are great! Listeners don’t need a bloodbath, it’s much better for our mental health. We’ve heard enough of ill intentioned politicians justifying their actions. It’s just the old guard posturing to preserve their power, only listening to a far flung fraction of their constituents. I find hope in listening to your voices of reason and compassion.
