Both Sides of the Aisle – Natalie Gochnour is joined on The Right by John Dougall, Utah State Auditor, and on The Left by Shireen Ghorbani, former Salt Lake County Council member. They discuss the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection scheduling a primetime public hearing, President Biden’s trip to ask Saudi Arabia to pump more oil and debating the future of U.S. energy policy. They also discuss bipartisan efforts towards gun control, Utah Rep. Birkeland sending out a letter to Utah principals giving instructions on handling “the transgender phenomenon” and the West’s worst drought in over a millennium.

My respect for John has grown since he’s become a more regular panel member. Like this time when talking about gun control, he repeatedly asked something like: ‘would this policy actually prevented a recent tragedy, or is it just an action to feel like we are addressing it?’
I’m 100% with John, people doing something just for the sake of felling better/looking good without it having an actual impact on the problem at hand just makes more red tape and legislation, which is worse for everyone.
