Both Sides of the Aisle – Natalie Gochnour is joined on The Right by John Dougall, Utah State Auditor, and on The Left by Shireen Ghorbani, former Salt Lake County Council member. They discuss the overturn of Roe v. Wade after half a century, Utah’s current abortion laws and other major SCOTUS decisions. They also discuss the shocking testimony of former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson on the events of January 6th, Sen. Mike Lee securing the Republican primary against challengers Becky Edwards and Ally Isom, more results from Tuesday’s primaries and the use of fireworks during severe drought.

It’s funny that Natalie praised John Roberts, because I think Roberts is so clearly concerned with maintaining the ‘legitimacy’ of the Supreme Court, yet he seems to give lots of weight to ‘not rocking the boat’, and in not having a principled stand on the interpretation of laws or the constitution, he instead de-legitimizes the court in a big way.
And it’s ironic to hear Shireen seeming to attribute government overreach there at the end to states and democracy now being able to vote on the contentious topic of abortion.
