Weather experts, law enforcement officers, and emergency management crews from across the Wasatch Front met in Davis County Monday to discuss potentially dangerous scenarios coming to Utah in the coming weeks and months. A snowy winter combined with a wet spring could spell big trouble for Northern Utah in the coming days and weeks. Officials from the National Weather Service say right now it is just a waiting game to see where and when flooding will occur across the Salt Lake Valley, but as KCPW’s Jessica Gail reports, some northern Utah towns could see problems as early as this weekend.
After last year’s flooding of Big and Little Cottonwood Creeks, local officials are taking caution this spring. Salt Lake County leaders say flooding is once again a concern, but as KCPW’s Jessica Gail reports, the County says it has already taken precautions to make sure residents are prepared.
Opponents of Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort’s plans to build a 3,000 foot roller coaster that crosses Little Cottonwood Canyon will hold a rally this afternoon at the Salt Lake County Government Center, saying residents are getting taken for a ride. KCPW’s Whittney Evans reports.
Downtown Salt Lake City was clearing out Monday after this weekend’s largest ever Outdoor Retailer Winter Market at the Salt Palace. 18,000 manufacturers and store buyers gathered to look at innovative products, many of which will be out in stores by next winter.
