State Hit With Near Record-Breaking Cold

The Wasatch Front continues to face bitter cold temperatures and forecasters say the end is not in site. National Weather Service Hydrologist Brian McInerney say temps won’t improve much over the next five to seven days adding to what could end up being one of the coldest months on record.

Fundraiser Held to Bring Awareness to SkiLink Proposal

The fight between several conservation groups and the Talisker Corporation over SKILINK, the proposed Gondola linking the Canyons and Solitude Ski Resorts, continued over the weekend. Mayor Becker, U.S. Forest Service Oppose Land Deal for Proposed Ski Lift

Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker testified this morning before a congressional subcommittee against a proposal to sell a parcel of national forest land, paving the way for a ski lift between the Canyons and Solitude Mountain Resort. As KCPW’s Whittney Evans reports, Becker told the panel it’s the city’s responsibility to make sure the project doesn’t bypass the environmental reviews and public participation that need to take place before the project is solidified.
