Community Calendar

Our Community Calendar is a volunteer-run resource offered to all qualified nonprofits. Community Calendar events are highlighted live, on-air throughout the day on KCPW. Featured events are chosen at random. You will also find all current Community Calendar events listed here at kcpw.org.

The Community Calendar also has a physical home. Following the criteria listed below, mail or bring professional materials (no handwritten signs please) promoting your event to the KCPW studios at 210 East 400 South, Suite 10, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. We’ll happily hang them in our window for all Library Square traffic to see.

To submit an event to the Community Calendar, the event must meet the following criteria:

  • The event must take place in Utah.
  • The organization promoting the event  must be a qualified 501(c)(3) charity or political subdivision.
  • The event cannot promote a religious organization or individual.

If your event meets these criteria, click “Post Your Event” below. Include your contact information in case we have any questions. Otherwise, your event may not get published.

We encourage you to make the most of your post by adding a featured image and links to your organization.  Utilize the provided field boxes (i.e. location, ticket information) to display information as accurately and quickly as possible.

Please do not submit duplicate postings for the same event. If you are posting a class or workshop that requires registration, list just the first instance in the date and time, and include the details for subsequent classes in the description.

NOTE:  approved events are typically posted to the Community Calendar within seven days of your submission.

Please submit requests at least 14 days before your event – listings read on-air are chosen at random, the week of the event.

The Salt Lake City Corp Program and amazing partner organizations are thrilled to invite you to join the Jordan River Cleanup on April 22nd, launching at 8AM from Jordan park. The city will provide breakfast for volunteers. The Mayor and other guest speakers will share remarks before the projects start at 9AM.
The volunteer sign up page is live and open to individuals, local businesses, and community organizations that are interested in volunteering. Everyone is welcome to join our projects, which include trail maintenance and trash removal, canoe in-river trash cleanup, art projects, and more. We have opportunities to volunteer for both English and Spanish speaking projects. Everyone is welcome, and we encourage you to bring friends and family too.

This Nights Under Lights includes a special performance by Trash Pandas, food trucks, education activities and animal encounters, and an EECO light show under the stars.

Join us for our popular quarterly Water Trivia at Squatters Brewing! This event combines water-themed education with fun, friendly competition for a watershed cause. Teams test their Wasatch water knowledge in ten trivia questions and a final wager on topics ranging from global water systems to local hydrology.

If you plan to play, please register prior to the event and arrive early to get settled. Trivia will begin at 7P. Registration is not required if you do not plan to play. Everyone is welcome! A signature cocktail and brews will be available for purchase courtesy of Squatters. All participants will be entered into an opportunity drawing to win awesome prizes!

Dr. Brady Allred conducts a professional symphony orchestra, world-class soloists, the internationally renowned Salt Lake Choral Artists with special guests, the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir, in Verdi’s towering masterpiece. Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29, 7:30 pm at Libby Gardner Concert Hall.

Now in its 44th year, The Salt Lake Children’s Choir, Ralph Woodward, director, will present “At Springtime”–its annual survey of immortal classics, global treasures, and newer music written especially for the choir– on Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 PM in the Salt Lake City’s beautiful St. Ambrose Church (1975 S 2300 E).

Among works featured will be the sublime “To Music” by Franz Schubert and “At Moonlight” by Robert Schumann–as well as soulful melodies and captivating rhythms from Africa, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and South America. Also heard will be American Spirituals, “Deep River” and “Let Me Fly”– plus the director’s own “Calypso Loco” (in ten parts). The evening will conclude with the choir’s traditional “A Day in Spring”–performed by both present and past choir members. There is a suggested $10 donation per person, and the event is open to ages 6 and above.

Torrey Chamber Music Festival will have concerts June 2-4 and a strings camp June 5-7. The Festival provides an opportunity for communities around Torrey, Utah to enjoy exceptional music performances in intimate settings and to provide the local youth a unique opportunity to achieve excellence as they perform along with the festival artists. This year’s program features familiar Classical favorites that everyone can recognize, like Vivaldi’s “Spring” from the four seasons, and masterworks by Dvorak and Ravel, alongside Utah premieres of current vanguard composers and jazz-influenced classical musicians like the Turtle Island String Quartet.
