Caroline Shaw is one of the leading new voices in composition and the youngest winner of the Pulitzer Prize for her “Partita for 8 Voices.” She will be in residence at Westminster with Grammy award winning cellist from Attacca Quartet, Andrew Yee. Both Shaw and Yee will perform on this not-to-be missed concert, featuring Shaw’s inventive take on baroque inspired forms alongside the vibrant works of Barbara Strozzi and Antonio Vivaldi. Post-concert reception included with each ticket!

This year’s theme: Candy Rococo! We’re partying in pastels and all things boujee and baroque! Grab your cotton candy wigs, and sharpen those sweet tooths for an 18th Century sugary-sweet shindig you won’t want to miss.

WHAT IS A WHITE PARTY?
White Parties are themed parties at which the standard clothing is all or almost all white and were started in the 1970’s as large dance events closely associated with LGBTQIA+ culture.

The SLC WHITE PARTY is the longest running WHITE PARTY in SLC and inclusive to all who wish to experience a magical night of art, music, performance, dance and joy. The SLC WHITE PARTY is welcoming to all regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or ability.

ATTIRE: A WHITE PARTY is a themed costume party with a special dress code that asks all guests attending to wear white outfits. You can wear colorful accents to a white party in the form of accessories. But generally speaking, except for accessories and accents, your outfit is encouraged to be head-to-toe white!

The SLC White Party is a fundraiser for the Utah Arts Alliance, a Utah 501(c)3 organization.

Are you a fan of The Beatles? Do your toes start tapping at the thought of “Let it be”, “Hey Jude”, “Yellow Submarine” or “I want to hold your hand”? On April 17th, Salt Lake’s own BeatALS will bring their songs back to fight against ALS. Listen to live Beatles music performed by BeatALS and support families that are dealing with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Bring your friends, grab your family, and load up the kids for a fun evening to support a good cause and hear the most iconic band come back to life.

Thankfully (hopefully?), spring is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with a breezy Kilby show. April’s Localized showcase features the dreamy, indie sounds of co-headliners Sharing and The Alpines alongside wunderkind openers Stage Fright. Come out to Kilby Court on Thursday, April 20 (doors at 7, music at 8) for the show. SLUG Localized is sponsored by Riso Geist.

As we conclude our season of rebirth, for our 13th and final event, we invite you to experience a unique and immersive evening as a community. Three local photographers will dialogue pivotal moments of individuation, moments that stop time and create a before and after, moments captured on film.

Celebrate EARTH DAY with us as we kick off our Nights Under Lights season with a Party for the Planet!

This Nights Under Lights includes a special performance by Trash Pandas, food trucks, education activities and animal encounters, and an EECO light show under the stars.

*This event does not include access to the Aquarium.

Now in its 44th year, The Salt Lake Children’s Choir, Ralph Woodward, director, will present “At Springtime”–its annual survey of immortal classics, global treasures, and newer music written especially for the choir– on Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 PM in the Salt Lake City’s beautiful St. Ambrose Church (1975 S 2300 E).

Among works featured will be the sublime “To Music” by Franz Schubert and “At Moonlight” by Robert Schumann–as well as soulful melodies and captivating rhythms from Africa, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and South America. Also heard will be American Spirituals, “Deep River” and “Let Me Fly”– plus the director’s own “Calypso Loco” (in ten parts). The evening will conclude with the choir’s traditional “A Day in Spring”–performed by both present and past choir members. There is a suggested $10 donation per person, and the event is open to ages 6 and above.
