Our Community Calendar is a volunteer-run resource offered to all qualified nonprofits. Community Calendar events are highlighted live, on-air throughout the day on KCPW. Featured events are chosen at random. You will also find all current Community Calendar events listed here at kcpw.org.
The Community Calendar also has a physical home. Following the criteria listed below, mail or bring professional materials (no handwritten signs please) promoting your event to the KCPW studios at 210 East 400 South, Suite 10, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. We’ll happily hang them in our window for all Library Square traffic to see.
To submit an event to the Community Calendar, the event must meet the following criteria:
- The event must take place in Utah.
- The organization promoting the event must be a qualified 501(c)(3) charity or political subdivision.
- The event cannot promote a religious organization or individual.
If your event meets these criteria, click “Post Your Event” below. Include your contact information in case we have any questions. Otherwise, your event may not get published.
We encourage you to make the most of your post by adding a featured image and links to your organization. Utilize the provided field boxes (i.e. location, ticket information) to display information as accurately and quickly as possible.
Please do not submit duplicate postings for the same event. If you are posting a class or workshop that requires registration, list just the first instance in the date and time, and include the details for subsequent classes in the description.
NOTE: approved events are typically posted to the Community Calendar within seven days of your submission.
Please submit requests at least 14 days before your event – listings read on-air are chosen at random, the week of the event.

League of Women Voters Salt Lake April General Meeting will host Dr. Angela Dunn, Executive Director of Salt Lake County Health Department and Prof. Phillip Singer of U of Utah Department of Public Science. They will discuss Is Public Health Broken? What did we learn from COVID? Has politics destroyed our public health system? Will we be ready for the next pandemic? or earthquake?
Thankfully (hopefully?), spring is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with a breezy Kilby show. April’s Localized showcase features the dreamy, indie sounds of co-headliners Sharing and The Alpines alongside wunderkind openers Stage Fright. Join us at the Rocky Mountain Parkinson’s Symposium for the educational program Parkinson’s, Sleep, and Me. Getting adequate rest and sleep is an important component of overall health and quality of life. Parkinson’s disease (PD) creates many challenges to getting a good night’s sleep, both for the person with Parkinson’s and the caregiver. This program provides information on how Parkinson’s disease affects sleep, and ways you can get a better night’s sleep while living with PD.

Now in its 44th year, The Salt Lake Children’s Choir, Ralph Woodward, director, will present “At Springtime”–its annual survey of immortal classics, global treasures, and newer music written especially for the choir– on Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 PM in the Salt Lake City’s beautiful St. Ambrose Church (1975 S 2300 E).
Among works featured will be the sublime “To Music” by Franz Schubert and “At Moonlight” by Robert Schumann–as well as soulful melodies and captivating rhythms from Africa, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and South America. Also heard will be American Spirituals, “Deep River” and “Let Me Fly”– plus the director’s own “Calypso Loco” (in ten parts). The evening will conclude with the choir’s traditional “A Day in Spring”–performed by both present and past choir members. There is a suggested $10 donation per person, and the event is open to ages 6 and above.

Caring Connections: A Hope and Comfort in Grief Program of the University of Utah College of Nursing will hold its annual Seeds of Remembrance event on May 23, 2023 from 7:00-9:00 p.m., at the Eccles Health Science Education Building, 26 South 2000 East Salt Lake City, Utah 84112. The event will also stream on Zoom for those who are unable to join in person.
This year’s theme is “Just Keep Swimming: Lighthearted Lessons in Grief.” The program’s featured speakers are Anita Coyle and Mel Shore, creators of the podcast Widow We Do Now? They will be sharing their “bright-hearted” take on grief with our audience. Music will be provided by Cori Connors. Seeds of Remembrance is free and open to the public. Torrey Chamber Music Festival will have concerts June 2-4 and a strings camp June 5-7. The Festival provides an opportunity for communities around Torrey, Utah to enjoy exceptional music performances in intimate settings and to provide the local youth a unique opportunity to achieve excellence as they perform along with the festival artists. This year’s program features familiar Classical favorites that everyone can recognize, like Vivaldi’s “Spring” from the four seasons, and masterworks by Dvorak and Ravel, alongside Utah premieres of current vanguard composers and jazz-influenced classical musicians like the Turtle Island String Quartet. Whether you’re a seasoned classical music fan, or you’ve never listened to a live string quartet, there’s something for you to enjoy!
