Our Community Calendar is a volunteer-run resource offered to all qualified nonprofits. Community Calendar events are highlighted live, on-air throughout the day on KCPW. Featured events are chosen at random. You will also find all current Community Calendar events listed here at kcpw.org.
The Community Calendar also has a physical home. Following the criteria listed below, mail or bring professional materials (no handwritten signs please) promoting your event to the KCPW studios at 210 East 400 South, Suite 10, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. We’ll happily hang them in our window for all Library Square traffic to see.
To submit an event to the Community Calendar, the event must meet the following criteria:
- The event must take place in Utah.
- The organization promoting the event must be a qualified 501(c)(3) charity or political subdivision.
- The event cannot promote a religious organization or individual.
If your event meets these criteria, click “Post Your Event” below. Include your contact information in case we have any questions. Otherwise, your event may not get published.
We encourage you to make the most of your post by adding a featured image and links to your organization. Utilize the provided field boxes (i.e. location, ticket information) to display information as accurately and quickly as possible.
Please do not submit duplicate postings for the same event. If you are posting a class or workshop that requires registration, list just the first instance in the date and time, and include the details for subsequent classes in the description.
NOTE: approved events are typically posted to the Community Calendar within seven days of your submission.
Please submit requests at least 14 days before your event – listings read on-air are chosen at random, the week of the event.

This Nights Under Lights includes a special performance by Trash Pandas, food trucks, education activities and animal encounters, and an EECO light show under the stars.

Join Craft Lake City and Red Butte Garden to plant for pollinators… and you at this all-ages creative learning workshop! Make a hypertufa (peat + cement) pot and learn the science of pollination. At the end, you’ll go home with soil and seeds to plant edible flowers that you and your backyard bug friends can share.

Join us at the Rocky Mountain Parkinson’s Symposium for the educational program Parkinson’s, Sleep, and Me. Getting adequate rest and sleep is an important component of overall health and quality of life. Parkinson’s disease (PD) creates many challenges to getting a good night’s sleep, both for the person with Parkinson’s and the caregiver. This program provides information on how Parkinson’s disease affects sleep, and ways you can get a better night’s sleep while living with PD.

Working with a variety of fun, colorful African fabrics, you will learn how to create eye-catching bangle bracelets to take your wardrobe to the next level. Rosette will demonstrate her tried & true methods for wrapping & stitching your bracelets by hand as you create a pair (one thick, one thin) of custom pieces to take home with you. As part of our New Americans Workshop Series, you will also learn about our instructor’s cultural background & her evolution as a maker through the lens of her experiences in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Beginners are welcome and all supplies are provided.

Join the Aviary on World Migratory Bird Day for a weekend-long celebration of the connection of nature and the city at our Liberty Park campus and the Jordan River Nature Center in South Salt Lake. Explore the birds and surrounding nature we love through featured activities with community partners, bird care staff talks, and garden tours from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Caring Connections: A Hope and Comfort in Grief Program of the University of Utah College of Nursing will hold its annual Seeds of Remembrance event on May 23, 2023 from 7:00-9:00 p.m., at the Eccles Health Science Education Building, 26 South 2000 East Salt Lake City, Utah 84112. The event will also stream on Zoom for those who are unable to join in person.
This year’s theme is “Just Keep Swimming: Lighthearted Lessons in Grief.” The program’s featured speakers are Anita Coyle and Mel Shore, creators of the podcast Widow We Do Now? They will be sharing their “bright-hearted” take on grief with our audience. Music will be provided by Cori Connors. Seeds of Remembrance is free and open to the public. Calling all pedal-powered riders! It’s time to dust off your bicycle, put your winter clothes in storage and get ready for the 11th Annual SLUG Cat Presented By Fat Tire. Hosted in conjunction with SLUG Magazine’s Bike Issue, the alley cat–style bike race sends riders all over downtown SLC to win points, solve clues and play games as they race toward the finish line in hopes of winning the grand prize. The race takes place Saturday, May 27, with registration starting 4 p.m. at Saturday Cycles and a 5 p.m. race kickoff.
