(KCPW News) In his book Growing a Garden City, author Jeremy N. Smith profiles not just a highly successful example of community-supported agriculture, but an agriculture-supported community. The book and its vivid photographs focus on Missoula, Montana, where an organization called Garden City Harvest brings together farmers, at-risk youth, first-grade students and many more groups to run a successful network of community gardens. Thursday night at 7, Smith will discuss his book in the Salt Lake City Main Library auditorium at an event broadcast live on KCPW. KCPW’s Jeff Robinson spoke with the author, asking him how Missoula first earned the nickname of the “Garden City.”
