Eagle Killings Spark Reward

Federal and local law enforcement officials are trying to find who is responsible for killing eagles across the state. Tom Tidwell with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says more than a dozen golden and bald eagles have been poisoned or shot in Utah over the past two years.

Officials Expect Greater Success in Pushing Switch to Non-Lead Ammo

State wildlife officials will continue their efforts to get hunters in southern Utah to switch to non-lead ammunition with a demonstration Saturday in Kanab. The goal is to reduce lead poisoning in the endangered California Condor, which feeds on animal carcasses. But Conservation Outreach Manager Lynn Chamberlain notes there have been challenges.
